Popular Post Fosgate Posted March 4, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 4, 2021 H Upmann Sir Winston – ARG MAY2014 (L&SRW2)* Never had a Sir Winston. For me it was like bigfoot. I heard they were for sale out there somewhere but I’ve never seen them. Are they worth all the talk? Are they worth the purchase of never trying one before. This was part of a chat with another member here that send me not one but two Sir Winstons with a bit of age on them. So I went to my local cigar lounge and told a good friend of mine that I had something special for us that day. Arrived and we each ordered our own beverage. My go to is frequently an Old Fashion and a glass of water. The cigar looked good, smooth in the hand, I used a guillotine cut on it, Draw was perfect on it. I lit it up and had a sip of water before getting a taste to see what it was like. 1st third was odd. Odd in the fact that it was so smooth. Ful of vanilla bean on the mouth and I get a sweetness that intensifies on the finish and lasts several minutes. I pickup a bit of wood and leather on a retro. I took a sip of my old fashion out of habit but would up swishing water around in my mouth after a couple puffs to clear my pallet. 2nd and 3rd were virtually the same for me. I’ve never experienced a cigar like this. My glass of water is nearly full at the end and my Old Fashion was untouched after that first sip. I simply never felt the need for liquid like I do with virtually every cigar. Just a puff and enjoy about 2-3 minutes of sweet bliss. Took both my friend and I 2.5 hrs to smoke and at end it was just this feeling like…”Well, what do we do next?” Both of us agree an awesome smoke and were crossing our figures that the price goes through the roof if we have a chance to purchase. Thank you to that member who sent these two sticks. My credit card company may thank you as well....my wife...maybe not so much. 21
Bri Fi Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Great review. There’s a reason they are so highly regarded. For a high end cigar, it’s actually reasonably priced considering they are cheaper than many ER/EL/Cohiba. I bought a box a year ago for $530. I’m really hoping they don’t go upward to $700 next time they peak their head out. 1

World would be alot better place if Sir Winnies were readily available and reasonably priced. 2
Walter19 Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Awesome review! I hope to be several boxes deep at some point.

I’m sure they’ll be at least $600 this year.
Fosgate Posted March 4, 2021 Author Posted March 4, 2021 Came to me what that 2-3 mystery sweetness was this morning as I was making breakfast. I kept wanting to think a good grahm cracker but it wasn't quite it. It was reminiscent of a locally produced clover honey that I have in my cupboard. It's in the raw so it's creamy and lighter than nearly all honey you find in the store (If it's real honey). I've had mead made out o of it and it's a very light almost fruity character to it. This is what I find reminiscent of that 2-3 minute sweetness is that varying degree between a touch of that clover honey that I also pickup in the mead.
